We recently celebrated Earth Days 50th Anniversary. So, for 50 years we have had it in the back of our minds that the planet is important but we still struggle with living sustainably today. Why is this?

It is probably because we get swept up in our day to day lives. We want things to work well and we want them quick. When the ease of a product wears off, we dispose of it. And thus, this can lead to a throw away lifestyle. With the craziness of the recent outbreak of COVID-19 it has given us the opportunity to slow down and think about what we are choosing to bring into our life. For my family, we have made plans to become more Eco-Friendly in our decisions. We are taking the time to look at what we are buying and evaluate if their are better options to improve our lifestyle. We looked into Eco-Friendly soaps, detergents and re-usable bottles. Its a great start to decrease the amount of chemicals we come into contact with and decrease the amount of plastic we are consuming.

Think about what products you choose and why you choose them? Are there better options. If the answer is yes, what is holding you back from choosing something better. Everything we do is a choice. Paper or plastic? Bottle or Can? We can make a difference it we put in the effort. Make small choices now to create a better future.

Investing in yourself can only have a positive outcome. So surround yourself with something happy and green. Adopt a house plant. Were all staying home right now which means we have the time to take care of it and ourselves.
