I'm on a journey to find products that are sustainable and actually work. And like many of you, having healthy skin is something that is very important to be. We only have one body in our lifetime and it is our job to take care of it. In looking for sustainable solutions to my beauty routine, I came across a company that creates organic, sustainable, non-GMO and vegan beauty products. They are called Five Petals.
And if the name isn't cute enough to draw you in they are locally run. Which is a huge bonus for me. In the current situation we should feel proud to be doing what we can to support local business to keep together as a community.
I purchased their concealer to try in my everyday routine and as an avid wand concealer user, I can say that the coverage is comparable. The concealer did not crease on my skin and felt lightweight. I was very excited to find something that was healthy for my face and was strong enough to cover up my dark under eyes.
The company reached out and sent me a few more products to try. And I have to say, I have loved everything so far. The foundation is aloe based and wearing it all day did not leave me feeling heavy or clog my pores. (There is nothing worse than feeling like you've iced a cake on your face). The initial pump is a bit watery (because aloe...) so don't be alarmed. After priming the foundation pump, every use comes out seamlessly. It was lightweight enough to let my skin breath but heavy enough to cover up any discoloration on my skin. The mascara wand is ridged to create an elongated and full look for your lashes. I normally double up on mascara to create a fuller look and with this product I really didn't need to. The pressed bronzing powder was similar to the product I use for contour. It was pigmented enough to create the shadows I wanted and left a slight shimmer. The bronzer gave me that "I just got back from the beach" look. Something that I can only get from using makeup now as I immediately burn in the sun.
My makeup routine is pretty simple on an average day: Foundation, Concealer, Bronzer, Blush, Eyeliner and Mascara. For some of you that might sound like a lot but I move pretty quickly when I put my morning face on. I also don't love the way I look with a ton of makeup on. I want products that do what they are supposed to do and I want the process to be fast. This company accomplished all of that and with an added bonus, you're using something GOOD for your skin. Having great skin gives your makeup the foundation it needs to make you shine. Using makeup products that are also good for your skin is an added bonus.
Another thing, Five Petals has FREE SHIPPING. Ladies, you know how much I love Amazon Prime. Free shipping is a deal breaker for me.
So lets recap all the wins from this company: great coverage products that are eco-friendly and good for your skin, locally run so you can feel good about supporting the community and free shipping.
I know, it sounds too good to be true but they really are that good! I can't wait to order more products and wanted to share my new found love for sustainable beauty with all of you.
